What a night! Last Sat night there was a wedding in our village for one of the guys Tom plays soccer with and we got invited to go. They set up a whole block for the party and the whole town came and danced until 7 in the morning! Tom and I made it till 3 am ... all the guys he plays soccer with kept giving him beers so he literally had to run away and hide out in our house so the beers would stop coming! ha ha. When we finally got into bed it felt like we were still at the party because the music was so loud it was shaking the whole village! What an experience!
It was a bit embarrassing when we first walked into the wedding... we had to walked in front of everyone and say our congratulations to the bride and groom up on stage. The father of the bride gave Tom a shot and i got a party favor. Then you walk off stage and past everyone looking at you to your table. We were the only gringos at the wedding (about 400 people!) .... Tom blends in with is dark hair and Mediterranean look, I on the other hand, stick out like no other ....with my blond hair and not to mention i’m a giant down here .... towering over most people by at least a foot! It helped that we know just about everyone in our village now because of Tom playing soccer. Luckily he scored the only 2 goals in that afternoons soccer match against the neighboring village.... so he was a bit of a celebrity for the night!
We had a blast dancing, and hanging out with our little village ..... what a great memory!
