We headed up north again Sat to get away from the craziness of Carnival (a 4 day long weekend celebrated here in Latin America that involves lots of drinking, partying and apparently spraying everyone with water, paint, mud, and silly string) Montanita already is a party town .... so it just when off this weekend! Apparently there were over 8000 people here, and this is not a very big town! Needless to say we stayed away from town the whole weekend.....
We scored big time up North ....the pics don't really show the size but it was well over head. Tom is actually on the wave in the second pic.....He, Matt and Eseado (the schools surf instructor) had an epic day! And yes we were the only ones there to surf it! It was a bit too big for my liking and I was ridiculously under gunned on my 5'8 fish .... but i paddled out and took some on my head for good measure....Tom was proud of me! .... after i caught three waves which confirmed that yes fishes are for small/or fat waves i headed in to be a beach babe.
