No really, Tom´s next project....

Welp it only took two 1/2 weeks for Tom to land a job down here....ha ha. I was joking with that last post about Tom´s next project.... apparently i should be more careful with my jokes! ha..... The owner of the Spanish school (a New Zealander) is building a house here and his General just up and left the job site three days ago. The story was that he had a family emergency but it's a questionable story. Needless to say the owner was very happy to put Tom to work and he started yesterday. So Tom is a bit of a Spanish School drop out this week, missing classes Thrus and Fri but he will resume next week with a different format. He will take a privet lesson for 2 hours in the AM and then head to work to practice with the workers.....talk about really learning what we came to learn!!!!! At this point the house is in it´s finishing stage and the owner hopes to have it done in two to three weeks. We are excited for the opportunity and Tom is very interested in learning the building practices down here. After just one day he come home with all sorts of different practices ... of course none of which would fly in the States.
Yesterday he was introduced as the owner/investor to the crew of 10 and their foreman. His role is to make sure that everything gets done... stuff gets ordered, people get paid, and make decisions as to were the finishes go ect. He was designing the kitchen last night on a peace of cardboard! As compensation the owner is comping our cabina and our schooling. It works out to be about $400 a week. As an Ecuadorian builder makes $10 a day, we are just fine with this arrangement. I´ll get some pics up soon .... but the pic from the other post is really the house!
